Science and projects at ECON MUNI 2025
As the new year begins, we look back at the past year of science and projects at ECON MUNI.
In September 2019 the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University installed the FILTERMAC – filtered water dispenser.
Thanks to our students and employees who quite actively use Filtermac and refill one bottle, our faculty saved over 32,000 half-liter PET bottles, which is more than 800 kg of plastics! All this was managed just in three and a half months.
Our faculty not only wanted to make fresh filtered water more accessible to its students and staff, but also to inspire to reduce the purchase of water in PET bottles.
We would like to express our gratitude to all of you for helping us to reduce plastic consumption. Besides that, we also thank our partners KPMG and Home Credit.
Our faculty has the potential to save hundreds of thousands of PET bottles per year and making a significant contribution to reducing planetary pollution.
We are looking forward to the results of 2020!

The ROBUST project, in which Masaryk University's Faculty of Economics and Administration is involved, organised a workshop in Brno in September where researchers from ECON MUNI presented the results of their research on the coordination of public institutions. The focus of the meeting was how to strengthen the preparedness of the state and local governments for crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, and why cooperation at the local level is key to effective and robust governance.
