Dear students, Dear colleagues,

With this letter, I would like to thank you for your helpfulness and patience in these difficult times. I appreciate the way you approach your everyday responsibilities, which is not an easy task at the moment, and I believe that we will manage this emergency together. Below, I am addressing you with a brief summary of the current situation.

Based on the Rector’s extraordinary measure, all contact tuition with effect from 11 March to 13 April 2020 was cancelled at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University. Teachers currently provide instruction through electronic communication, especially with the help of the MU Information System, or other tools. Regarding the tuition, students are obliged to consult the subject matters directly with the teachers of the subjects electronically. Other issues should be consulted with the Student Affair Office staff who is available at studijni@econ.muni.cz. The situation is developing quite dynamically, and we will be continuously informing you about any measures concerning your studies.

In connection with this measure, I also recommended to all faculty employees to work from home if the nature of their work allows it. Their personal presence at the workplace is only required when absolutely necessary.

Current information on the situation can be found on the Masaryk University website: https://www.muni.cz/en/coronavirus. For students and employees of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, more detailed information is available at https://www.econ.muni.cz/en/koronavirus.

This absolutely unique situation requires an extraordinary commitment of all of us - students and employees - not only in fulfilling our study and work duties. Right now, we have the opportunity to be actively involved in helping to manage the epidemic as volunteers. There is a wide range of different activities coordinated by MU in which many of our students and employees have already participated. I would like to thank all of you from my heart and say that I am proud of you.

Sincerely,

Your Dean

Antonín Slaný
