The deans of the Faculty of Economics and Administration and the Faculty of Social Studies signed a partnership with the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna.

Thanks to the Memorandum, academic exchange between the Czech Republic and Austria will further intensify and build on existing joint research projects. On behalf of Masaryk University the Memorandum was signed by the deans of the Faculty of Economics and Administration and the Faculty of Social Studies. The partnership with one of the best Austrian research organisations opens up the opportunity for new interdisciplinary projects and international cooperation.

The cooperation will be based on the already ongoing exchange of experience, study and teaching stays of academics and PhD students. The institutions also intend to further develop research projects in the field of sustainability and environmental economics, the application of behavioural methods in public policy or health economics.

"We have agreed with our colleagues from IHS to meet regularly and coordinate research activities. We see great potential for cooperation in the field of doctoral studies, especially through student internships and co-tutoring. I am pleased that the initiative has come from the Austrian side. Among other things, it confirms the increasing international importance of our faculty and Masaryk University as a whole", summarised Jiří Špalek, Dean of FEA MU, on the importance of the Memorandum
