We’ll be kicking off the autumn term at ECON MUNI with our traditional Garden Party. 🎉 You can look forward to a lovely afternoon and evening full of fun, music, good food and informal get-togethers with fellow students, lecturers and Faculty staff.
🎶 What can you look forward to?
The programme will include activities organised by student societies, karaoke, music from a DJ, the ECON MUNI photo booth, a chill-out zone, and the announcement of the results of the ‘35 Years of ECON MUNI’ summer challenge. There will also be a competition to win a Faculty hoodie and other merchandise.
As in previous years, lecturers will also take part in the event and serve beer or lemonade. The Garden Party is therefore a great opportunity to get to know one another outside the classroom and start the new semester together. 🙂
ℹ️ Registration and organisational information
Registration will take place via an online form in Forms, which will be distributed by the International Office staff during August. Admission is limited to registered participants only.
The Garden Party will take place outdoors in the car park behind the Faculty in all weather conditions. So please check the weather forecast, dress appropriately, and feel free to bring a blanket to sit on. 🧘
🍔 Food and drinks
Upon entry, each participant will receive two tokens, which can be exchanged for beer or wine. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the event.
Beer will be provided by the local Ohrada brewery, serving Bejček 11° and ALE 12°.
Wine will be provided by Nekarda Winery, which is run by one of our Faculty’s students. 🍷
At the Garden Party, we certainly haven’t forgotten those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks. Koli lemonade will be available free of charge. The company is managed by ECON MUNI graduate Pavel Vavruška. 🥤
Two Brno street food outlets will be providing the food. Páreček will offer hot dogs made with homemade ingredients, and ToastMaker will serve filled toasted sandwiches. Please remember to bring cash. 🌭
♻️ Cups and waste sorting
Please think of the environment and bring your own reusable plastic cup to the Garden Party, for example one from a concert by your favourite band. A cup-washing station will be available on site. For safety reasons, please leave glassware at home.
You can also use disposable cups made from recycled rPET material. Bins for sorted waste will be provided, and you’ll also be able to purchase a OneCup stainless steel cup.
