Verification of previous education
If you want to be enrolled in one of our degree programmes and your prior education was acquired outside Czechia, it is necessary for you to have your prior education formally verified by the faculty or recognised by the responsible Czech authorities. Please see all the options below.
I am a bachelor's applicant
I have a diploma from Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia or Poland
The Czech Republic is bound by bilateral agreements on mutual recognition of educational qualifications with Hungary, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Slovenia, the Federal Republic of Germany and Slovak Republic. This applies only to certificates under the education system of the mentioned countries. You are exempt from the verification fee.
What do you need for the successful verification?
- If you are a holder of such a document to which the bilateral agreement applies or a holder of "maturitní vysvědčení", you need to submit the officially certified (notarized) copy of such document.
- If the document is not in Czech, English or Slovak, you need to submit its official translation too.
- If the document is from Germany, you also need an apostille.
Please wait for confirmation from the verification coordinator before sending your documents by post.
If you have any questions, feel free to email to verification@econ.muni.cz
I have a diploma from another country
Based on the Directive No. 2/2019, the faculty verifies whether the submitted foreign educational documents entitle the applicant to enrol into the degree programme they were admitted to. Therefore, the verification is valid only for the specific programme you were admitted to within the specific admission round. The verification costs 900 CZK (you can pay for it here). If you want to be enabled to enroll at any Czech university or use it for the purpose of employment, we recommend getting a recognition (see below).
What do you need for the successful verification?
- Invoice of the verification fee payment
- Your high school diploma
- There might be an apostille or superlegalisation required on your diploma, please check what applies to your country here - you have to refer to the country where your diploma was issued.
- Scan of a confirmation of accreditation of the high school: A confirmation from a competent foreign authority (e.g. the Ministry of Education) that the foreign high school is authorised to provide secondary education in that foreign country.
- All documents must be submitted in the form of an officially certified (notarized) copy with an official translation into Czech or English (including all stamps, notary clauses, interpreter clauses, certifications of the authenticity of signatures, etc.), if they are not originally in Czech, Slovak or English.
- After checking the documents by our coordinator, you will be informed whether the documents are in the required form. DO NOT SEND YOUR DOCUMENTS VIA POST BEFORE OUR CONFIRMATION.
Please note that the faculty may require a certificate from your previous school or other competent foreign authority stating that the graduate is entitled to apply for admission to study on the same level as they are applying to in that foreign country with the submitted diploma. This document must be submitted in the form of an original or an officially certified copy with an official translation into Czech or English (translations are not required for documents issued in Slovak or English).
