Research Interests
I am an associate professor at the Department of Regional Economics and Administration and head of the Research Institute for Innovation. My research interest lies mainly in the field of regional competitiveness based on the knowledge economy. In my research, I apply qualitative and quantitative methods that are familiar and used in regional and spatial sciences. My current research interests concern the importance of innovation for regional development, the spatial dimension of innovation policy, and EU cohesion policy. I have published more than 100 works, including papers in scientific journals, monographs, chapters in monographs and conference papers. I have a lot of experience in organizing scientific conferences focused on regional sciences. I welcome students who are deeply interested in the above topics, have the prerequisites for research, analytical and creative work, and want to devote their time to doctoral studies.
