Department of Regional Economics

Management of the development of territorial units originating in the state or between neighbouring states is becoming a very topical issue both from the economic and political points of view. The role of a qualified economist, who is also educated in other disciplines enabling him/her to understand and better solve the issues of the development of regions, is non-substitutable, if not vital.   The role of an economist in solving the problems of the development of towns and villages as specific socio-economical territorial units, as well as the use of the territory for the development of companies and their regional and global cooperation, is no less important.

The Department of Regional Economics prepares economists concentrating on those issues. Such economists have an economic range of knowledge and, at the same time, they have a sense of recognising local and regional issues, and have skills and abilities, which are required for solving those issues in various sectors of social development.
