The Department of Regional Economics and Administration was founded in 1995 and since then has been providing bachelor and master study programs in the area of regional development. The graduates understand the spatial aspects of economic development and the possibilities of their influence through a variety of public policies. The strength of our graduates is the ability to reflect on the territorial specifics of economic development into their thinking and decision-making

The Department includes the Research Institute for Innovation as well as the Tourism Institute. The Department has been organizing an International Colloquium on Regional Science since 1998. The Colloquium has become a recognized scientific event since its existence. Since 2010, the Department has been organizing the International Colloquium on Tourism as well.

  • Aleš Hála, head of Centre for innovation and technology transfer Czech Academy of Sciences
