You will become an expert on assessing regional investment attractiveness as well as evaluating the impact of development programs. You will learn how to model the integration processes with regard to creation of regional axes and much more! However, the Regional Economics programme is not just about these aspects. You will be able to specialize in selected topics that will be taught not only by associate professors and professors from the Department of Regional Economics and Administration, but also by prominent experts from foreign universities, such as Professors Manfred M. What do we expect from the Doctoral Programme Regional Economics?
Our aim is to develop the analytical and research potential of PhD students, so that they can independently solve problems in Regional Economics and become real experts that can work as analytical, research and management specialists not only in Czech, but also in European organizations. We teach our students how to use the system approach as an effective tool that should solve scientific and research issues related to regional and local development and its broader context.
A successful graduate of the Regional Economics programme will be able to answer questions as follows:
- How firms and people choose to locate when they do?
- Why some regions have steady growth, and others not?
- What impact does regional planning have on the development of the region?
- How is economic growth generated and distributed?
