From 14 September to 31 October 2026, you can register for CERPEK’s Development of Teaching Competencies Programme for Early-Career Teachers.

The programme is designed primarily for early-career teachers at Masaryk University and doctoral students involved in teaching. It is also open to anyone interested in developing or refreshing the fundamentals of university teaching.

With a total workload of 50 hours (including workshops and self-study), the programme runs across four semesters and concludes in Spring 2028. Participants will explore four key areas:

  • Foundations of Teaching Competencies
  • Practical Skills for Higher Education Teaching
  • Individual Development and Collegial Support in Teaching
  • Group Reflection on Teaching Practice

Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a micro-credential certificate.

What do our colleagues say about the programme?

Patrik Evžen Vaněk, Department of Business Economics and Management:
"The programme encouraged me to step outside my usual perspective and draw inspiration from colleagues across different disciplines and faculties. It also gave me the opportunity to take some time to reflect on my teaching, consider what I could do better, and think about how to achieve it. Overall, I found the experience extremely valuable."

Daniel Němec, Department of Economics:
"The programme gave me the opportunity to observe teaching at other faculties, experience different approaches to seminars, and take away a range of inspiring ideas for my own teaching. It was also a great opportunity to take a step back and reflect on my approach to teaching, recognise what works well, and consider what could be done differently or better. In the process, you often realise that there is no need to completely rethink your teaching style. Even a small change to one particular element can make a significant difference – both for the teacher and for the students."

You can also meet programme participants in person and discuss their experiences at the ECON MUNI Teaching Conference, taking place on 17 September 2026.
