We are opening an ECON MUNI Children’s Corner
New facilities for children and parents
Dear colleagues, dear parents,
we are pleased to announce that from January 2026 you will be able to use the new Children’s Corner, located directly at our faculty.
- The Children’s Corner was created with significant support from the faculty management, which helped secure suitable premises as well as financial resources for the necessary modifications and equipment. We would also like to thank everyone who contributed toys or books from their own resources.
- The establishment of the Children’s Corner was significantly supported by the commitment to fulfilling the Masaryk University and ECON MUNI Gender Equality Plan, as well as by the OPEN project. Within this project, parents repeatedly expressed that they lacked a similar space at the faculty.
- We believe that the Children’s Corner will help you better balance work or study with family or other caregiving responsibilities.
- The Children’s Corner can also be used as an informal meeting room or a place for online meetings. More information below.
Where can you find the Children’s Corner and how does it work?
- The Children’s Corner is located on the ground floor of the building, next to the CIKT (IT Services) workplace. To use the space, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the Operating Rules.
- The room is adapted both for work and for spending time with children – you can feed them here, change diapers, or for example manage a consultation or a team discussion about research or a seminar paper.
- If the Children’s Corner is not occupied, faculty staff may also use it for work meetings or negotiations. However, parents with children always have priority!
How can you use the Children’s Corner?
- The Children’s Corner operates on a self-supervision basis – supervision is provided by the legal guardian or a person authorized by them.
- The key to the room can be picked up at the reception desk; no reservation is required. You only need to sign in at the reception.
- The Corner is open throughout the entire faculty operating hours.
- Changing tables are located in the accessible toilets in both wings of the building on the 1st floor.
- A microwave oven, electric kettle, and WC are available in the shared kitchenette with the CIKT workplace.
- For barrier-free access with a stroller, please use the main entrance to the building.

Additional childcare options:
- MUNI childcare facilities
- The Elánek Children’s Group provides regular childcare for children from the age of two and is located within easy reach of the faculty.
- Occasional childcare is available at the Loučka Children’s Group in the city centre.
- Commercial individual childcare options
- The premises of the ECON MUNI Children’s Corner may also be used for individual, commercially provided childcare.
