Finishing Your Studies
̶After successfully finishing your studies you will be granted  academic title Ing. – equivalent of
Master Degree (M.Sc.)
̶Your studies will be officially concluded by final state exam.
̶The state exam is oral and has three parts:
̶Economics (Micro + Macro)
̶Defense of diploma thesis
̶Subject of specialization

Required structure of credit points
̶Total of 120 ECTS
̶
̶Credit points system
̶A credits – „must-do“ courses
̶B credits – electives (specializations)
̶C credits – free electives (up to 120 ECTS)
̶
̶A credits include
̶credit points for working on diploma thesis (diploma seminars)
̶credit points for handing in diploma thesis
̶

Diploma thesis
̶final written paper
̶diploma thesis is written according to official description of the thesis, which is awarded by the
Dean of the Faculty.
̶you work on the paper under the guidance of your diploma thesis supervisor, always from the
department that guarantees your specialization.
̶Business Management = Dept. of Corporate Economy
̶Finance= Dept. of Finance

Topic of Diploma thesis
̶is officially stated in the Official Description
̶
̶How to obtain a topic?
̶choose one of the topics offered by the department, or
̶speak to potential tutor with your own topic or problem area which you would like to cover
̶
̶How to obtain the official description?
̶it is composed by the supervisor in the cooperation with you after you had enrolled yourself for
the particular topic through special is.muni.cz application
̶

Working on your diploma thesis
̶the work on your diploma thesis is conducted individually under the guidance of your supervisor.
̶is awarded by credit points, officially through Diploma Seminar.
̶credits are awarded by the supervisor.
̶contact your supervisor after you had enrolled for the topic. You will obtain detailed information
regarding your co-operation over the thesis.

Important deadlines
̶1/11/2019 – 30/11/2019: in the second semester of your studies you choose the topic and enrol it
through IS
̶15/12/2019: composing an official description (deadline for tutors)
̶Official description will be available at International Relations Office (Jana Nesvadbova) after
they will have been signed by the Dean, or you can downloaded from the IS archive.
