Study program: Quantitative Methods in Economy

A graduate of this Master’s degree program will become an economist with standard knowledge of microeconomics and macroeconomics, selected knowledge of finance and a thorough understanding of mathematical and statistical methods. The graduate will also have appropriate capabilities to carry on in doctoral studies of current theoretical economics. The emphasis is put on a graduate’s ability to solve more complicated analytical problems that are based on nontrivial statistical analyses of given data. Another important ability is to solve optimization tasks by using computational tools and to find optimal variants in decision-making processes.
The graduates can find jobs in professions such as senior officers in the Czech National Bank, business banks and insurance companies. They can also work in statistical institutions and agencies, agencies for public opinion polls, business, production, industry or traffic companies, or financial and stock exchange companies. Notice: in the course of study, students must gain at least 18 credits for optional courses.
