Management in Culture

This field is taught in the scope of an interfaculty study program together with the Faculty of Arts, i.e. the guaranteeing faculty is not FEA but the partner faculty. If you are interested in enrolling in this field, you have to apply to the above-mentioned faculty and not to the FEA.

Students of the Master’s consequential field Management in Culture will acquaint themselves during their studies with the issues of economic, legal and artistic running of cultural institutions (praxeology, economy of culture, legal awareness). Orientation to understanding state and private support of non-profit organizations with a cultural focus (cultural policy) forms an integral part of the study. Students will be educated in accounting, marketing, management, public relations, copyright law as well as management of cultural activities including all its specifics (economics and management of cultural activities). Students will also take courses with a general focus on arts (general theory of art, aesthetics, sociology of culture, mass media, and popular culture) and they will have to exercise professional practice.

Job perspectives for graduates of this field:

The graduates of this field will be prepared for practical assessment of their knowledge in the sphere of the art environment, economic and legal aspects of functioning of cultural and social institutions and organizations, as well as in the state cultural policy including the system modifications in the Euro-American environment. They will also be able to reflect the topical cultural and social events and their adaptation for practical use in organizational, managerial or operative work performed in institutions that have an artistic focus. Thanks to the combination of theoretical art education with practically led economic, legal and praxeological orientation, graduates will meet all criteria for fulfilling managerial, organizational and operative tasks in various culturally social positions in the state as well as public sector.
