Economy and Management of NonGovernmental Non-Profit Organizations

Study program: Economic Policy and Administration
Depart. to guarantee: Department of Public Economics

Form:

  • Bachelor’s combined single-field (Bc.)
  • Language of instruction: Czech

In order for the public sector to function well, it is essential to manage even non-governmental non-profit organizations efficiently and rationally. They help raise the quality of the civil society and they assist significantly in each citizen’s selffulfillment for the benefit of public and mutually beneficial activities. University education of managerial staff of nongovernmental non-profit organizations with an economic orientation does not have any tradition in the Czech Republic. Therefore, the Faculty of Economics and Administration has been offering a specific field of study focused on the economy and management of non-governmental non-profit organizations since 2001. The study is designed for all applicants who have already been working in such organizations, who are interested in their activities, or who have been in contact with activities of these organizations.

Job perspectives for graduates of this field:

The graduates of this field are qualified to work in the management of non-profit organizations where they work as directors, fundraisers, PR & communication specialists, project managers, or economists. Some of them use their knowledge of the non-profit sector in public administration institutions or in the financial world when making decisions concerning the support of non-profit organizations or concerning cooperation with them on securing community projects.
