Information about the office and contacts

The key function of the Office for Research and Development is to create environment for continuous growth of competitiveness of the Faculty, maximally using the potential of multi-source funding in support of its development activities, involving a wide range of partners from both public and private sectors in the education and scientific-research processes.

Within its individual activities, the Office for Research and Development ensures the strategy for planning and long-term development of the Faculty, including administrative project support. Its competencies include initiation, preparation, support, co-ordination and evaluation of projects focusing on development (MEYS, framework programmes, operational programmes, etc.). Another important sphere of activities is development and co-ordination of non-accredited educational activities – special LLL programmes, corporate courses, training, partnership study programmes. The R&D Office:

• Co-ordinates the preparation of strategic and analytical documents of the Faculty (in particular long-term plans, their updates, evaluation, etc.);
• searches for information on potentially interesting financial sources for implementation of the development projects of the Faculty;
• keeps the Faculty staff informed of novelties in the field of structural funds and community programmes;
• co-ordinates the development projects being implemented at the Faculty (structural funds, community programmes, MEYS CR);
• co-operates with the specialists of the Faculty in the preparation and implementation of projects from structural funds or community programmes;
• searches for potential partners among other Faculties of the Masaryk University for the purposes of implementation of the development projects;
• ensures active methodological help to author teams with the preparation of monitoring reports on development projects;
• organizes training for the employees of the Faculty concerning the possibilities of using structural funds and community programmes;
• actively co-operates with the Strategy Office the Rector’s Office of the MU;
• ensures long-term capacity planning of the Faculty (especially, human resources);
• ensures communication with the staff of the Faculty as regards creation and implementation of a complex quality management system and its evaluation;
• ensures co-operation with partner organizations from the public and private sectors in implementation of the strategy and development of activities of the Faculty – search for partners, negotiations with partners, concluding agreements on co-operation, organization of seminars and training with partners (corporate courses, training, etc.);
• communicates with the Faculty staff within the preparation and realization of non-accredited educational activities (LLL programmes, etc.).

From methodological point of view, it is managed by the vice-dean for strategy and development (Assoc. Prof. Ing. Jaroslav Rektořík, CSc.).
