Students of ESF MU need to know (and not to confuse) at least the following three passwords for their university studies:
Use:
Every new student receives a primary password during registration and uses it mainly at work with the university information system.
Examples of use:
Secondary-password authentication is used by the majority of university applications (system WebKredit for lunch orders being an exception). Every user changes this password him-/herself in the IS MU (which means that he/she needs to know his/her primary password). Attention: this password is not set for new students at all and therefore it is necessary for new students to create this password before using any of the above-mentioned applications.
Since some applications use the secondary password even in a non-encrypted form (e.g. when downloading email through POP3 protocol), it is regarded as less safe, and for this reason it is strongly recommended not to set the secondary password the same as the primary or faculty password that are always transferred in an encrypted form.
Examples of use:
The general rule is: faculty services = faculty password. Every new student receives the password during registration and has no possibility to change it him-/herself.
If problems with the primary or faculty password occur, it is necessary to contact CIKT staff who can set a new password for ESF students. For security reasons, no passwords can be sent by email; it is necessary to pick up a new password in person or over the phone.
