Multilanguage environment

The Computers in the schoolrooms „VT1“ – „VT4“ and computers on the premises of the French-centre ( the so-called „Aquarium“) have multilanguage environment installed for the operating system and office-package MS Office programs. This means that users can select a language of their choice to communicate with the operating system or with the Office programs. You can choose from the following languages:

• Czech
• English
• German
• French
• Spanish
• Italian
• Polish
• Russian

Setting for operating system:

The preferred language can be chosen in the following way:

There is an icon on the desktop when you log on – Místní a jazykové nastavení – the users are enabled to select a language of the Operating system (for example Internet Explorer) and MS Office by doing the following:

- to double-click on the icon „Místní a jazykové nastavení“
- to select the bookmark „Jazyky (Languages)“
- to choose „Jazyk nabídek a dialogů (Language of menus and dialogs)“
- to confirm your preferred language by clicking on the „OK“ button
- to log off the system and log on again

Setting for programs Microsoft Office:

To set a different language in Microsoft Office programs you need to go: „Start“; „Všechny programy“; „Microsoft Office“; „Microsoft Office Tools“; „Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings“; bookmark „Uživatelské rozhraní a nápověda“. In these boxes „Zobrazit sadu Office 2003 v:“ and „Jazyk zobrazované nápovědy:“ you can set the language you need. The language change will be activated after restarting of any MS Office programs immediately.
