1st International PhD Students Conference – New Economic Challenges

Under the Auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University

21^st – 22^nd January 2009

The two-day conference will serve as a forum to present research papers and will give PhD students the opportunity to network. Admission decisions will be based on the structured abstract sent in advance, accepted papers will be subject to a referee process. Each participant will have 20 minutes to present his/her paper, question-and-answer period of 10 minutes will follow right after the presentation.

Keynote speeches will be represented by prominent academic members and experts, who will together with reviewers participate also in particular sections.

The papers will be published in pre-conference proceedings. The proceedings will be available during registration.

The conference will be divided in following sections

Financial Markets – Theory and Practice
Accounting and Taxation of Profit and Non-profit Sector
Regional Development and Administration – Theory and Practice
Development of Public sector – Theory and Practice
Economic Theory, Economic Policy and Economic History
Business Economics, Management and Marketing

The program of the conference and the structure of the sections could be modified according to number of accepted papers.

Registration fee

1 450 CZK inclusive VAT

The registration fee includes: attendance to all sections of the conference, coffee breaks, refreshments and evening party. The fee is not refundable.

Registration and structured abstract submission

Till 30^th November 2008 via web application form

The 1–2 pages long structured abstract will define the aim of the paper, the methodology employed, a sketch of the main argument, main results (or expected results) and a shortened list of references.
